DIAGNOSE. MENTOR. PERFORM.

Driving Distribution Centre Excellence

DCXcellence isn't a generic supply chain consulting firm — it's operators who mentor operators. A team who have personally run distribution networks and delivered quantifiable improvements in service, cost, cash, safety and sustainability, transferring that operator knowledge directly into the DC manager's seat, backed by a structured diagnostic.

THE PROBLEM

No early warning system

Most mid-market retail, wholesale and DTC businesses have no independent way of knowing how well their DC managers are handling the strategic and commercial side of the role — cost-to-serve thinking, network economics, KPI ownership and upward stakeholder management. Head office often only finds out a DC is underperforming when the numbers are already bad. There's rarely a structured way to assess DC health before it becomes a crisis.

THE APPROACH

Closing the gap between Head Office and the DC floor

1. DC Diagnostic
A structured, independent assessment of your distribution centre's performance - benchmarked against what good actually looks like. We identify exactly where the gaps are between head office expectations and DC reality, before they become costly crises. Delivered as a clear, actionable report your team can act on immediately.
2. DC Manager Mentoring Programme
Hands-on, ongoing mentoring for DC and warehouse managers — built for operators, not consultants. We work directly with your managers to close capability gaps, build confidence, and drive sustained performance improvement long after the diagnostic report lands.

Run independently or together - the Diagnostic identifies where to focus, the Mentoring Programme builds the capability to fix it.

THE EXPERIENCE

About

Run by someone who's actually run the floor. DCXcellence was founded by Paul Edwards, a Melbourne-based supply chain and operations executive with 20+ years leading distribution and network operations across both local and international markets - spanning retail, FMCG and DTC businesses including Levi Strauss, Country Road, Coty, Avon, and Penguin Random House. That's meant redesigning a 330-store Australian network for $7M in savings over four years, and separately cutting $20M from an APAC network over five - plus consolidating a 32-site distribution network down to 22 - work delivered personally, not handed off to a graduate analyst. Paul holds a Bachelor of Business and is Six Sigma qualified.

If a distribution centre or network is quietly underperforming, a structured diagnostic will tell you why — before the numbers force the conversation.
